Dr. Brandy Zachary, DC, IFMCP, FMACP has worked with thousands of health entrepreneurs on their branding, marketing, sales, speaking and practice strategy. She loves to teach about the “Business of Health” and rapid practice growth. Her practical, actionable and fun approach to learning is a favorite among Functional Medicine practitioners.

Dr. Z is a 5th generation female entrepreneur with extensive experience growing 6- & 7- figure practices. She has previously published peer-reviewed literature and created a unique personality profiling system published by McGraw-Hill, NY which was a best-seller and won awards in sales.
Dr. Z will tell you she’s not a fan of sales, despite outselling Disney in their own park with the only non-Disney item, generating $150k+ in sales from the stage at a single speaking event and creating $250k+ in cash sales during the first year of a debt-free startup business. She then repeated that during the first year of her Functional Medicine practice with only 7 hours per week of nutrition visits.

It is precisely her “non-salesy”, high integrity, very efficient, patient-centered, “let’s keep this simple and be profitable” attitude that has made her a sought-after trainer for Functional Medicine practitioners.

Like many practitioners, Dr. Z first came to Functional Medicine from her own health journey. She was struck by a “mystery illness” that left her declared permanently disabled and in the hospital every 3 weeks costing $720k each year. Unwilling to accept that diagnosis, she fought back to regain her health and then launched Body Love Cafe, an award-winning holistic health clinic with multiple practitioners serving a worldwide audience.

In 2016 Dr. Z designed a tool that helps doctors quickly analyze functional blood labs which has been tested in thousands of patient visits. In 2020, Dr. Z expanded that to a web-based software app to include a wide array of testing (ex. DUTCH, urinalysis, GI MAP, allergy, SIBO, OATs) using Functional Medicine ranges, therapeutic recommendations and supplementation. That same year she also identified and created the nomenclature for a metabolic condition which led to the MISSED patient protocol system. Dr. Z is currently working on a third book and lives with her husband and daughter in Walnut Creek, CA.
